PRISM of DARKNESS
review by Neil Healy –
I just attended the premiere of “Prism of Darkness – The Evil Attachments of Melodie Brookman” at the Laemmle Theater in Glendale.  It was directed by Barry Conrad and produced by Barry Conrad and Stephen Robin.   There was a full house of Paranormal fans and professionals. Melodie Brookman was there in person and introduced the documentary. There was enough fear in her voice to let you know she had been through an ongoing ordeal. But what followed was an amazing account of a vicious haunting.

I’ve known the film’s director, Barry Conrad, for many years as both friend and fellow cinematographer. We are both network camera operators and have shot a lot of interesting things. I remember decades ago when he told me he got hired to shoot a supposed haunted house in San Pedro, California that of course became the start of a tremendous adventure for him. The house was really haunted. Everyone in the paranormal community knows the landmark film “An Unknown Encounter – The True Account of the San Pedro Haunting.” What Barry didn’t know at the time was he had just stepped into another world. The world of unknown confrontations and danger.
Rather than explain the details of Melodie’s traumatic interludes, I will leave it this way. If you don’t see Prism of Darkness you will miss a milestone in Paranormal and Supernatural lore. Like Unknow Encounter, Barry has accomplished a unique blend of storyteller and warrior against ghostly home invasion and personal assaults on his girlfriend, Melodie Brookman. Prism of Darkness proves today that Barry Conrad still roams that world with great skill. Keep shooting Barry
